Who we are
Welcome to the Bristol Tropical Fish Club, we are a group of approximately 30 people that meet once a month, to learn more about our hobby "Tropical Fish Keeping” and we have been established since 1953.
Our Members have a huge range of interests within the hobby, and are all keen on discussing any aspect, any fish related issues, and anything else that comes up. Our Society is an affiliated member of the Federation of British Aquatic Society.
What do we do?
The Meetings are varied in both topic and format. For instance we often:
» Invite a Speaker who presents their specialist area in the form of a slide show, video etc., followed by a question and answer session on their specific subject, ie catfish, cichlids, tetra, rainbows, Livebearers, killiefish.and other rarer subjects.
» Members may bring along fish, for us to help identify, diagnose, admire or enjoy.
» Have Raffles for fish related products, as well as treats for us humans such as wine and chocolates!

When and where do we meet?
The Club meets on the 3rd or 4th Thursday of each month (see list) at 8 pm. until 10 pm (although members are often still chatting until 10.30 and beyond).
The Venue is the White Hart Inn, 84 Bedminster Parade, Bristol. This building was chosen as it is more central than our last Venue, and has a bar, which we can use for refreshments throughout the evening.
I am a beginner, does that matter?
Not at all, no experience is required.
How do I know I will like it?
I guess you will not know until you come along to one or more of our Meetings, no obligation. If you decide you want to join us, then you pay your Membership, if not, then there is no charge!
I am interested, what do I do next?
All the details of the next Meeting and theVenue are on the above Home page - just come along to the meeting where we will be happy to see you.
